ASSISTANT MANAGER
Location: Trilogy Wellness of Maryland
Schedule: Full-Time, 5 Days per Week with open availability
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager (ASM) is responsible for the proper execution of Trilogy policies and procedures, and meeting or exceeding all key performance indicator goals. ASM has operational control of the sales floor and staff for the duration of the scheduled shift. ASM partners with the Dispensary Manager (DM) to drive daily operations, maximize revenue, and ensure the staff and store are adhering to the policies of the Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA) and Metrc. ASM will train, coach, provide feedback to and monitor the performance of the staff to deliver remarkable customers experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all regulations from the MCA and Trilogy Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding safety and compliance with Maryland law
- Supervise the activities of all staff and make corrections to behaviors that are not in compliance with safety and MCA regulation
- Ensure all products, packaging, waste protocols and transactions meet the standards of the MCA
- Report incidents timely and per policy and keep the DM and informed of all activities
Team Leadership
- Assist DM in the hiring, training, onboarding, coaching, scheduling and disciplining of dispensary agents and staff
- Lead daily shift meetings (huddle), provide sales floor control, communicate updates, respond to the needs of staff and customers, teach staff how to properly execute standard operations of the sales floor, empower staff to assist in the daily execution of store functions
- Motivate and coach staff on upselling and cross selling techniques, hold staff accountable to all store KPI’s, educate staff and customers on responsible cannabis use and the laws of Maryland regarding consumer and medical patient use of cannabis.
- Fill any vacancy in operations from receiving, inventory counting, reception or cash register duties.
- Exemplify professionalism and uphold the standards of the Trilogy Creed.
Retail Operations and Management
- Execute opening and closing procedures per policy which includes printing deal sheets, setting up price rules, setting up computers, TV’s, signage, coffee bar, lights, cash drawers, and conducting a huddle with staff every day.
- Manage the POS operations. Verify, edit, and communicate issues with prices, menus, or services to the entire management and leadership team.
- Track real time KPI’s and sales trends and adjust, as needed, staff behaviors or strategies to boost profitability.
- Execute tasks as described or outlined in written or verbal requests or policies.
- Problem solve issues in systematic and common sense fashion using all tools and resources (leadership team) at your disposal.
